Arcachon

Arcachon was created as a seaside resort in 1845. Its popularity grew and in the late 19th and 20th centuries the elegant villas in the calm Ville d'Hiver were built. The livelier Ville d'Ete, facing the lagoon, has a casino and sports facilities.
